Family!!

Yes, this, as most of my emails is an emotional one!

First. THANK YOU!

(We boworred a camera, that is why the pics aren't that good, if you can help uswith donating a very good digital camera, new, please contact us, thank you) You are the reason for the pics that you are about to see in this email.

The Dominican Armed Forces visited our project to have our largest to date outreach for 2 communities!! Over 500 children along with there mothers were treated.

On site we had a dentist, gecologist, pediatritions, ear doctors, 22 of the military were doctors, and 29 volunteers. Those 29 volunteers are friends/relationships we established while living in Santo Domingo las year.

The "Good News" was shared to many. Including the children. This year we celebrate our 5th year! In August, I want to personally thank those sponsers that have been with us since almost the beginning. Enjoy the pics!! I am very very excited, happy that the Military said "This was the most organized outreach we have done" others said, "I enjoyed so much this outreach, we have been to many, the folks were so thankful" and what I wanted to hear was that the volunteers, visitors were impacted personally by the great need in this part of D.R. The south, is the poorest part of the country. "I feel chains in my life have been broken by this trip" Eduardo of Scotia Crecer.

I'll repeat it one more time, with 1 person, God can do wonders! Take the risk!!

Jorge & the Nazirite Team!(Natalia, Martha, Milton, Gisela, Fernando, Andres, Stephanie, Robert, Susanna, Javier, P.Chris)

Family!!

How are you?? Finally, we are here in Dominican Republic. I can't recall God opening so many doors all at once. I'm guessing He is happy with our obedience to move here and build this ministry further with our presence.

We had our first event in the capital - Santo Domingo. And it was our largest, over 600 children! We teamed up with a large bank called ScotiaCrecer. They are like Bank of America. Also, World Vision allowed us to use there site to hold this outreach, which brought over 200 lbs of medicine, 200 lbs of food, clothing, the Department of Health of Dominican Reppublic also helped and joined us in delivering that medicine and an ambulance. Colgate donated hundreds of toothpaste/toothbrush and we also had 7 doctors diagnosing the children.

Tommorrow we head to our project, we still can't live there because we are waiting for our bed, chairs to be able to live over there, while we built our own home also over there. I wasn't aware of just how serious the problem with water is. Right now that is our main priority, acquiring a profesional water filtration system. Also, since we are here, monthly support, and funds to build home.. here about this problem and how to help; http://www.nchild.org/urgent.htm

Pictures of the event in Santo Domingo - www.nchild.org/june08.htm

Thank you all, God bless you!

The team @ nazirite childrens missions.

Como estan?

Que viaje tan tan poderoso y personalmente especial para mi.pintamos el hogar de ninos el lunes tempranito. Our motto from the start was 'God is doing'. We wanted to confess that, because I personally got tired of hearing 'God is going to do', NO, i Believe He is doing all the time! We did our first missionary group trip in March 08' already! With a local Pastor, P. Chris and a missionary who had not done missions in years, Otto.

It blessed my heart to know that this trip to the project in Dominican Republic rekindled his passion and his calling. by the way, the pics of that trip are here - www.nchild.org/republica_dominicana.htm

And we had never had a 2nd trip lined up so quickly, a couple by the name of Ricardo & Luz are sponsoring a trip for April 20 -26. Along with a friend of theirs Javier. Javier is married to Natalia and they have a 5 month old baby. ( I think he's 5 mos.) Ricardo is a construction expert and Javier is an electrician.

Amazing that whenever we need something specific, God just sends the right person with the specific talent. It has been like that since He called us to this mission in August 2004.

I want to briefly share with you two things, actually 3 of importance. In my 2 1/2 months in Colombia (Nov - Jan) I... how do I express this, I did not know gratitude the way I saw it in that trip. I wasn't aware I had not grasped this amazing gift, GRATITUDE, I get emotional just writing about it. But, friend, it really pitched my soul, my heart to see how folks struggle outside, how there is a genuine drug problem with youth all over the world, how families are hungry and hopeless, but most importantly how VITAL it is that we SHARE the HOPE, the FAITH and the LOVE that we have.

A couple of times I had to ask God to forgive me, I had not been as grateful to Him as I should. And connected with this, I think I need to be out there f/t. 2 years ago I was scared to think that was my mision. But in 2008 I'm more then ready, I'm willing to completely leave my comforts, my life as I know it and just take the next leap of faith. I miss the everyday mission of being the words, the ears of Christ. For some reason in the missions field I always have an opportunity to do what brings me joy and satisfaction, serving others. Please pray as its been a very confusing, storm-like season for my mind, I NEED PEACE. I think there might be a battle for me not to take the step that I feel God is directing me in.

2- Attached is a beautiful image, a picture of what Jesus meant. To be 'Child like' It was sent to me by Claudia, its one of my constant prayers to be child like in my heart. To not allow the corruption of an adult heart. To remain pure, to forgive, forget, serve, help, and stay focused on my purpose and calling. I hope you enjoy it and hope it blesses you how it blessed me. Again, thank you.... thank you for believing, thank you for being a part and growing along with us, we are, if you think about it, family. So don't argue with eachother, FOR A HOUSE DIVIDED WILL NOT PROSPER!

PS, Natalia, can you translate this? Please.... :) (Natalia is now helping us with translating, updating pictures, any administrative duties, voluntarily, thank you Natalia! Matthew 18:2"He called a little child and had him stand among them."

Thank God we are ok.

We were in the midst of hurricane Noel in Santo Domingo and could not reach our town - Juan Santiago. Giving hope to people like Maribel.

Jorge Escalona, Founder/Dir of Nazirite Children's Missions

Friends, thank you for visiting our blog to keep up with the trips.

Our trip to Dominican Republic was for 2 weeks, but, we ended up staying a month to finish fencing the property. As you can see in the picture we invited all the children. We gave away coloring books, over 150 of them, played games and just laughed together.

Something that really touched me was, a couple of them saw me packing-up to leave and they asked "Jorge are you leaving? We are going to miss you!" That really touched my heart and reminded me that all the work, the sweat that goes into helping the poor and children is worth it. Yes, at times it does get lonely. Since we are only 2 years old, we can't afford to take other volunteers with me. At times it does get over whelming, but again, I would not trade what i do for all the money in the world, and I know some day soon we will be blessed, and be able to take a team.

The second picture is the home we built and donated last year. I painted it in this recent trip. For the first time the kids that live in this home were smiling. So thank you once again sponsors, because of you, we are able to go and do what we do!

Jorge and Team

I will be traveling to our precious project in Dominican Republic on the 19th of April...

Spirit Air had an amazing special! Only 74 one way and 8 dollars for the return... of course, international flights add large int´l tax rates, but anyway we are happy to have found a great price like this.

And very exciting news! We are invited to speak at a local TV Station on behalf of the children we work with in Juan Santiago, Domiincan Republic. Then, I will head out to our project to paint the home we built in nov 06´and to fence our land preparing it for the construction. (See the pictures from previous trip here.)

We know that we are very close, God has been faithful. I will be there until may 6th. Please keep us in your prayers... :)

And Thank you!! How are you??

Just a brief hello and brief story of some things that went on in Colombia..

I arrived there on March 19 and leaving tomorrow April 5th. A very fast trip... tooo short!

I arrived in Bogota, and stayed at a home which cost about 20,000 pesos per night, its a missionary home, that´s about 12. dollars..

I went on bus to Tunja, which is 1 hr half. I met with a group of 3 and we left to Cicuco, Colombia, which is a 15 hour bus trip in Colombia! You can imagine how bumpy it was.

We arrived and the whole town was awaiting our arrival! What makes our trips so special, is that we go to places that are hard to get to. We want to reach those that don´t get many visits. To them, to receive an American is a reason for celebration.

I´m happy to say, that we were able to paint an orphanage in this town. To pray with others that so desperately needed prayer. As you can see in the picture. Maribel is chained to the wall, because of how violent she is. It did cause my little hairs in my arm to rise. But we showed her love. The children, well, this country's abuse rate for children is 10 times higher then any other country in Latin America.

Keep them in your prayers!

Hello friends!!

We are back! And wanted to update you on our missions trip. We arrived Sunday evening. Words cannot express how great God was with us. Too much to mention. Once again, the citizens, the poor left us speechless with their kindness. Thank you to Fellowship of the Holy Spirit in Califorina for their support, for their generosity. Without them we could not make most of our trips and donate clothing.

Thank you to our staff, Andres abd Martha for their support while I'm away. In getting our 2nd group ready. Thanks to Alla for donating a new tv from target for one of the families. Second to those that went with us and made such a huge effort in paying our way and donating their time and hard earn money. Thank you also to Pastor Chris and Ekklesia Miami for sponsoring our trip, Kevin, Franco, Milton and Martha. Also to Dr. Daisy who lives in Santo Dominigo and who escorted us to our project.

We had 2 groups. The 1st we left last Sunday. The 2nd arrived on Friday. So we made two exhausting trips to our project from the capital (Santo Domingo). We were blessed to have transportation (Honda CRV) to travel to our project site. A local family lend us the vehicle!! When they heard of what we do for their country, they wanted to help. And thus gave us one of their vehicles. For our 2nd trip which was Friday, Kevin blessed us with a rented mini van. ($90. a day! very expensive) We are praying for a donated mini van in Dominican Republic or one we can ship to D.R. We already have a person who works in exporting cars to D.R.

We had so many bags of clothes, that we couldn't have done it without these 2 unexpected blessings! Thus, our trip had minimal expenses. Elimitating more expenses, we were able to stay in our project site with our tent. One of the pictures, you'll see that we took a tent to our donated land. It is here were we plan to build a small cabin or shack for us to stay in and have more visitors. It will measure about 20 feet by 12 feet approx. Made of wood. We are trying to finalize the documentation to be able to build this small home for us, for you to visit and for missionaries to visit and stay.

As we began to build the tent, many children and adults came. Laughing, joking, saying things like "Its prettier then our home" they clapped when they saw we raised a home in 15 minutes... It was a memorable moment as they had never seen a tent before! It really touched my heart... What I personally loved the best is this, they were touched to see us live like them. Staying with them, not just going and dropping off gifts, but living among them.

As many of you know, what sets us apart is that the director, Jorge, actually does all the trips and plans all of the trips to bring awareness of the poverty of these children and children worldwide. We are a hands-on foundation. We are working hard to gain funds for our Colombia trip. Which is a 2 months project. (http://www.nchild.org/childrenincolombia.htm)

The vision of Colombia is to have a soccer field, and an orphanage. To bring children from 1 to 10 to live from all over the country. In our May - July trip of this year we met professional soccer players. I had no idea there was a meaningful purpose behind this. By the way, I will be returning in 2 weeks to Dominican Republic. A local church needs bibles. Thus out of 50, only 1 had a bible and out of those 50 only 15% can read. We are looking for donors, partners to donate cd players with rechargeble batteries.

If you are able to sponsor our D.R. trip in 2 weeks, you can donate online http://www.nchild.org/donation.htm

Until soon!!

en Espanol

Buenos dias!!

A la iglesia de California Fellowship of the Holy Spirit.

We would love to hear from you... To hear what you think, your comments, because this really motivates us. We hope you can take the time and write. We don't hear from 90% of you, so we hope you can write us a little something this time... :)

Jorge and team

Hello Friends!

Just a brief note of our upcoming trip, Oct. 3rd through the 8th, to Dominican Republic. Please keep us in your prayers. We will be taking 2 small groups. Among them a pastor. As you know, the need in what we do never ends. There's always a need. We will be taking an oversized tent to stay on the property that was donated to us, thus saving even more on expenses.

Dr. Daisy who lives in D.R. will be receiving us at the airport. She has found locals to lend us bathrooms while we stay these 5 days. We have tons of clothes, and I can't wait to see their faces!! I'll be sure to take pictures and videos.

Also, we have updated the web site. So far, we have also now added a page for Colombia's children. A trip that we are looking for partners to fund. www.nchild.org/childrenincolombia.htm

Our trip scheduled for Colombia is at the end of October, for 2 months.

Updates to follow!!
Jorge and team

I watch a program of missionaries called "Travel the Road". About two young missionaries traveling to far away places reaching people. They really encourage me and spark more desire to go to farther places. At the same time, its kind of hard to watch and wait for more help.

Actually, I got some more ideas from them, on filming. Since I do all the filming, pictures while traveling... Soon you'll be able to view some videos and more photos here on the blog! For now here is a map of the Caribbean, see Dominican Republic right in the middle.

And a closer one of the Dominican Republic

Watching these guys travel to amazing places reminded me of my last trip to Dominican Republic. I slept in a different place then I had before. The last night there, I realized what the noises were that I've been hearing previous nights. Rats!!! Yes... The last night they were crawling over the roof and floors. I didn't think they were the curious types. But here they were crawling around making all kinds of ruckus. I decided to stay with my contact lenses on and full clothing, just in case. And surely enough, around 3am, they made their way closer and closer until they were crawling up my bed!!!

Oh no!!!

Of course, needless to say, I didn't stay there. I went to seek shelter somewhere else!

Lately, while we go deeper into villages that are further away, you see less and less of what most of us take for granted. Simple things like, electricity and bathrooms. In the town we work in, we have rivers, but in the last village we visited, there is no river. So I had to shower in a home-made, outdoor bathroom. That basically means: buckets and cups. Some had soap, and some had towel...

Jorge and team

Columbia Mission Trip - March 07

We are heading out today to the second mission trip in Colombia! I wanted to take the opportunity to say thank you! As we try to improve little by little, I now have an email with our foundation and a new blog!

I have been living in a wheel chair for more than half of my life. I have had 24 operations on my leg. That runs from my knee to my hip. I was sexually abused many years ago and I believe my story can impact people. That it can touch the lives of children and teenagers also.

At the same time, I'd like to share the wonderful task we have at hand. And give the opportunity to many here in the US , to be a part of our love, serving the needy, the hungry the children. Talking with Jorge and the board, we, Jorge and I are available to visit your companies, your churches, and share my testimony and our mission. We are excited to meet many of you. The great thing about this is, the funds we receive through these invitations, goes to our foundation. Jorge and myself are available to begin speaking engagements around the country. To gain funds, to be able to travel to Dominican Republic and Colombia for the rest of the year from October through January. To give more of our time. Jorge, has already begun, he had an invitation 2 weeks ago in Miami. If you or your church/organization, of if you have areferrall, please contact us asap. Thank you!

My husband, has just left for the army, it's been difficult for me, but, with all this time on my hands, I thought I could do something constructive for our Children's Outreach. To establish partners, for funding of our mission. I believe it's a great time for us to begin to share more indepth, on a personal level, who we are, and the people behind Nazirite Children's Missions for the great cause God has given us to do.

What motivates me is that, from the invitations, it helps us to gain funds for our Children's Mission . It will allow us to stay in the mission field for longer periods of time and not have to return to the US . It will fund our trips, which cost between $300 to 500 just for plane tickets. Our mission is to be a part of these families, not to go and leave, but, to establish relationships. We are proud to say, they feel comfortable, and trust us because of the time and times we go to spend with them. I have not been able to go, because of my condition and the rough conditions in our project in Dominican Republic, I am hopeful though, but, Jorge has on our behalf.

Although, he's the director/founder, he does all the work. All the traveling and all the delivery of your donations. He has traveled since Aug. 2001, returning, August 05, November 05 with our teenage volunteer Stephanie, in April 06 and July 06 taking with him 35 youth and constructing a small school. We don't only want to impact one country. That is why we traveled to Colombia , which the abuse rate is 70%! Jorge stayed in Colombia for 35 days. Taking clothing, speaking at Rehabilitation Centers to x drug addiction men, visiting inmates in Colombia's Maximum Security Prison. Visiting families in the country. Families in Saboya, Chiquinquira, Tuta, & Tunja. We have videos and pictures of all our trips.

For our main project, which is in Dominican Republic, our goal is to build a Children's Center that will feed, clothe and educate them in computers. Something they have never seen before! It will provide a full working kitchen and bathrooms like the ones we have here. They have never seen one eigher.Through purchasing land and cultivating the land, to produce fruits and vegetables. Through acquiring chickens and cows to provide food. This is how they feed themselves. There are no supermarkets, no drug stores. We are just 1 or 2 hours from the Haitian border. That is why, our site is one of worst possible places in this country of Dominican Republic . The singer of the musical group, Contagious, sang to the children. All the town united, over 500 in all! That is our main mission friends. To make relationships with these families. At times, I have to eat and drink stuff that scares me, but the poor are very sensitive people.

When I first began these missionstrips in 2001, I thought I was blessed, and they weren't . But after returning so many times lately, I can see that its the other way around. The love, the attention, the smiles, the warmth we all receive from them is amazing! The 35 youth had a great time. They all showered together in the river. They took extra money to bless the citizens. And so, I took them to the school I had visited in April which was falling apart. It was scary to even walk in it. But this group donated the new school and in 3 days the old one was demolished and the new one was up and running!

One thing I learned, as a non profit foundation, we didn't want our heart to become selfish, thinking and only giving to our project in the Dominican Republic. So we decided to visit other countries and help other children, of other cultures. The doors to Colombia opened. A country were 70% of the children are abused emotionally, and physically. We gave 35 days to this country, to its families and children. We got to see a 17 year old beaten up by her uncle. It was one of our most difficult trips, as well as rewarding.

We returned July 2nd, and July 3rd we headed off to our project in D.R. The way we see it, because we gave somewhere else, we received so much in our project. I encourage you today, the saying is true, "its better to give then to receive" help us, by sponsoring our mission trips. Airline tickets, transportation, meals in the mission field. We have close to 300lbs of clothing, but, can't do more then trip bi monthly. Hope you consider helping us monthly.

Thank you for visiting!

Hello everyone and welcome to our new blog!
Many of you already receive our email updates and here at this space we'd like to invite you to share thoughts, ideas and suggestions.
